East Asia as an object for Russia-Mongolia energy cooperation

Abstract

The article analyzes the role of the Asian-Pacific region and East Asia for Russia and Mongolia as major energy exporters. Based on their own forecasts and analysis of energy consumption of East Asian countries, performed by Russian and foreign organizations, a quantitative assessment of the capacity of coal, oil and natural gas markets in East Asia is provided. The perspective directions of energy cooperation between Russia and Mongolia, allowing to expand opportunities fo utilisation of resource, geographical and economic potentials of two countries to expand energy cooperation with other countries of East Asia, are offered.
