Multi-Criteria Problems in Electric Power System Expansion Planning
The paper presents different options of the power industry structure in a market environment and the nature of electric power system expansion planning problems. Mathematical methods are proposed to solve the problems of generation expansion planning. The use of a hierarchical multi-criteria game model is demonstrated for the case of “soft” regulation of the liberalized electric power industry expansion. Methods for analysis of many preference relations in electric power system expansion planning are discussed. Two illustrative case studies are presented.
